Bush Guard Oil - our new Natural Insect Repellent
As per your request, I have developed a solution to enjoy our beautiful outdoors without being bothered by our serpents in paradise :-)

Insect repellents are essential for preventing vector-borne diseases and minimizing insect bite issues. Traditional repellents often contain synthetic chemicals, which, despite their effectiveness, have raised concerns about environmental impact and potential health risks. Consequently, there is growing interest in natural alternatives, particularly essential oils known for their insect-repelling properties.
It was quite a journey of research and testing before I settled on our formula:
Research indicates that Neem oil is effective against mosquitoes. Citronella offers moderate protection from various insects but can only be used in low concentrations for safety reasons. Lemon Eucalyptus contains a high percentage of citronellal, which is responsible for its repellent effect against many insects and can be safely applied to the skin. Clove has also proven to be very effective at repelling bugs, but is only suitable for skin application in very low doses. Niaouli has proven to be a powerful anti-insecticide and Peppermint can be effective against many kinds of insect while it also provides a cooling and refreshing sensation, which can help alleviate itching. Naturally, I had to include Manuka, our native plant hero, due to its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic properties. It can help soothe itching and irritation and prevent infections in irritated skin.
Combined with organic Coconut oil and skin-soothing Kawakawa oil, I created a blend that protects and soothes the skin while offering a strong and powerful, yet fresh, herbal, and citrusy aroma.
I hope this remedy will contribute to a safe, joyful, and happy time in our unique outdoors. Handmade and locally crafted from Sanflora Wellbeing with Love.
